One of the things I am loving about being at home, is the chance to make holidays special for my family. In the past, I was running a mile a minute and it was a miracle if I could throw dinner together much less decorate the house for Valentine's Day.
As much as I loved Isaiah being in school for holiday festivities, I love having him home even more. Although, I will admit, the Valentine's Day party is perhaps what I'll miss most. I loved making these invitations last year...
and these simple valentines...
But this year, sans school and work chaos, I've had a blast doing Valentine's Day right at home. And man, does that feel good to say. Nothing fancy, I haven't gone too crazy. But I have been loving the chance to put special Valentine's touches around the house.
My mom always made holidays so special when I was growing up. I'm just honored to have the chance to do that with my son.
I'm really loving the mantel garland I put together in 15 minutes: Just kraft paper, vellum paper, bakers twine, and these lovely stickers. And I love, love, love, that I'm finally putting out our vintage valentines. They just don't make them like they used to, puns and all.
Hope you are getting into the Valentine's spirit wherever you are.
